WEINMANN at the ERC Kongress 2026

This year’s European Resuscitation Council (ERC) Congress took place in Milan from September 17 to 19 and was a key event for everyone involved in resuscitation research in Europe. We were also there again and presented our innovative solutions for airway management and ventilation during cardiopulmonary resuscitation. We also had engaging discussions with our key research partners and gained valuable insights.
New data presented on the use of CCSV
At the ERC Congress 2026, recent scientific studies on Chest Compression Synchronized Ventilation (CCSV) were also presented. Three abstracts from the Netherlands, Ireland, and Great Britain provided new insights into the use of CCSV during CPR.
The studies presented were drawn from ongoing research conducted by the Rotterdam-Rijnmond Emergency Medical Services (Netherlands), West Cork Rapid Response (Ireland), and the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance (United Kingdom). They are investigating various aspects of the effects of CCSV – ranging from return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) and survival through to neurological outcomes and cardiorespiratory interactions during CPR.
Promising interim results
The data presented at the ERC Congress suggest, among other things, that optimized cardiopulmonary resuscitation with mechanical chest compressions using corpuls CPR and CCSV can improve physiological conditions during resuscitation, even during prolonged periods of low flow.
Further findings suggest that the use of CCSV has the potential to improve the ROSC rate. In one of the studies presented, physiologically guided, fully automated CPR with CCSV during prolonged cardiac arrest was also associated with a significantly higher survival-to-discharge rate than standard ALS care.
The three abstracts thus examine CCSV from different scientific perspectives and contribute to further investigation of the physiological mechanisms and potential clinical effects of the method.
For WEINMANN, the data presented represent promising interim results. At the same time, they emphasize the importance of further scientific research to gain an even better understanding of the use of CCSV and its potential effects on cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
The ERC Congress was once again very inspiring this year. It is truly wonderful to witness the development of a European community dedicated to physiological resuscitation and the integration of CCSV.

In addition to discussing the three abstracts, the focus for our colleagues in attendance was, as it is every year, on product demonstrations and direct interaction. The numerous presentations, workshops, and discussion panels at the congress provided us with a valuable opportunity to deepen our dialog with users and experts from around the world.
