WEINMANN actively supports clinical and scientific research to drive innovation in emergency medicine

In addition to technical product development, medical-scientific research also plays a central role for WEINMANN. Together with renowned partners from the fields of medicine and research, we conduct studies that guarantee the safe use of our devices, promote medical innovations and ensure the well-founded further development of our products.

Our studies pursue the following central objectives:

  • Proof of the clinical efficacy and safety of our products
  • Scientifically sound further development of ventilators and emergency devices
  • Support for medical research & promotion of evidence-based medicine

Our current studies

We are involved in various clinical, prehospital and experimental study formats.

Post-Market Clinical Follow-Up (PMCF) Study – Vienna

In cooperation with Vienna Emergency Services and University Hospital Vienna, we are investigating the use of Chest Compression Synchronized Ventilation (CCSV) in cases of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). The aim of the randomized, controlled study is to evaluate oxygen supply (PaO2), decarboxylation (PaCO2) and hemodynamic effects compared to Intermittent Positive Pressure Ventilation (IPPV).

To the first interim results

Experimental cadaver study – Minden & Bochum

Together with Minden University Hospital and Ruhr University Bochum, a human cadaver model was used to investigate how different supraglottic airway devices perform compared to endotracheal intubation (ETI) during resuscitation using different ventilation patterns (CCSV, IPPV, bag device).
