Benefits of mobile ventilators compared to a bag-valve mask
A mobile ventilator enables ventilation by a specialist and thus saves valuable personnel resources in an emergency in contrast to bag-valve-mask ventilation.
Two specialists are required for bag-valve-mask ventilation: one person places the mask and seals it while the other compresses the bag-valve mask.
In contrast, a mobile ventilator allows ventilation by just one person.
This means that capacities can be used sensibly in rescue operations, which is of great importance given the often limited availability of personnel in prehospital emergency care.
The mobile ventilators from WEINMANN also offer a wealth of other benefits.
Differentiated ventilation
Various ventilation types and modes enable targeted adaptation to clinical and disease-specific requirements. Whether invasive or non-invasive ventilation, assisted or controlled types or pressure or volume-controlled modes: with a portable ventilator from WEINMANN, ventilation can be customized.
User friendliness
The mobile ventilators are characterized by a compact and lightweight design and intuitive user guidance.
The structured arrangement of the controls, visual and audible alarms and the night view increase user safety under difficult conditions, for example in the emergency room, in noisy environments or in the dark.
Optimized monitoring is made possible with the display of pressure and flow curves as well as CO₂ measurement (MEDUMAT Standard² only).
Time savings and safety
Ventilation can be started by entering a height or via emergency mode. An automatic function check of the device is also carried out regularly.
Both functions enable ventilation to be started quickly and in accordance with the guidelines, even in unusual situations.
At the same time, hygiene filters reliably protect the ventilated person, the staff and the ventilator from contamination.
Areas of application for portable ventilators from WEINMANN
The mobile ventilators from WEINMANN are not just used in ambulances, but also have numerous other applications.
- Emergency medical services: Mobile ventilators enable efficient prehospital care in the ambulance. The unique CCSV mode supports resuscitation by synchronizing with chest compressions. Non-invasive types of ventilation enable prehospital NIV therapy by emergency teams.
- Air rescue service: Every gram counts on helicopter assignments. The low weight of our ventilators makes them the first choice here.
- Hospital settings: Whether for intra-hospital transport, for intra-hospital emergency teams or in the emergency room: our mobile ventilators guarantee reliable monitoring of vital signs.
- Disaster control: Thanks to their long battery runtimes, our mobile ventilators can be used without restriction even in remote areas and rough terrain.
- Armed forces medical corps: Our rugged, compact and durable solutions are essential for military forces. Our LIFE-BASE portable unit and CBRN adapter solutions enable safe transportation in extreme conditions.

MEDUMAT Standard²
MEDUMAT Standard² is characterized by a long battery runtime of up to 10 hours, making it particularly suitable for disaster control in difficult-to-access terrain.
The portable ventilator is suitable for all age groups and enables ventilation of infants from 3 kg. MEDUMAT Standard² also offers a variety of ventilation modes, including the exclusive CCSV mode for ventilation during cardiopulmonary resuscitation in an ambulance or in hospital.
MEDUVENT Standard
MEDUVENT Standard is one of the world’s smallest and lightest turbine-driven transport ventilators and thus stands out from other devices in its class.
It can ventilate continuously for up to 7.5 hours without an external compressed gas supply, applying oxygen concentrations of 21% to 100%. This function makes the mobile ventilator particularly suitable for use in disaster control – and in tactical situations.

Fully automated CPR not only allows us to focus on diagnosing and treating the cause of the cardiac arrest, it also allows us to transport a patient in cardiac arrest to a definitive intervention. For me, CCSV is the ultimate bridge to the cath lab or ECMO.

FAQs
An oxygen device is used to supply patients with additional oxygen to enrich the air they breathe. A ventilator, on the other hand, ventilates the lungs with positive pressure, eliminates CO2 and supports respiratory function.
There are 3 types of ventilator used in medicine today:
- Emergency and mobile ventilators
- Intensive ventilators
- Home ventilators
With the LIFE-BASE portable unit and the Rescue-Pack+ emergency backpack, mobile ventilators and accessories are always ready to hand in an emergency.
- Various LIFE-BASE portable units make it possible to combine the emergency equipment for ventilation and more in one unit and transport it with one hand.
- The Rescue-Pack+ emergency backpack is particularly light, so that you remain mobile during use and have your hands free at the same time. Thanks to the viewing window and the integrated charging interface, it is optimally tailored to WEINMANN ventilators.
