André Schulte is the new chairman of the German industry association SPECTARIS

On October 7, 2025 CEO André Schulte was elected as the new chairman of the German industry association SPECTARIS. The election took place as part of the general meeting in Berlin.
A strong voice for Germany’s high-tech industries
As a leading industry association, SPECTARIS represents German high-tech industrial companies in the fields of optics, photonics, analytical technology and medical technology. Well-known examples include Carl Zeiss, Jenoptik, Leica and Dräger. Through its work, the association promotes the interests of around 400 predominantly medium-sized companies.
André Schulte succeeds Dr. Bernhard Ohnesorge (Carl Zeiss Jena GmbH), who has successfully led and strategically developed the association over the past two years. “I am delighted to have earned the trust of the members and am looking forward to my new role,” says Schulte. “Especially in times of great change, our industry needs guidance and a strong voice. That is what SPECTARIS provides, and I am delighted to be able to contribute to it.”
With his many years of experience in medical technology, Schulte brings important impetus for the future of the association. Under his leadership, WEINMANN Emergency has developed from a medium-sized German company into an internationally successful medtech company. He is also involved in various national and European committees, including the DIN NARK Advisory Board, the European Committee for Standardization (CEN), and Hamburg Chamber of Commerce committees.

Shaping the future of medical technology – in collaboration with the industry
The general meeting took place in conjunction with the SPECTARIS Future Festival 2025, which had the motto “Mega trends – Opportunities & Potential for Germany’s Future Industries.” Over 250 guests gathered in Berlin to discuss topics such as artificial intelligence, sustainability, digital business models, and the new world of work.
The appointment of André Schulte as chairman of SPECTARIS is not only recognition of his many years of expertise in the industry, but also a strong signal of the importance of small and medium-sized companies in German medical technology. WEINMANN heartily congratulates him and wishes him every success in his new position!
