From Systems Engineer to Production Site Manager | Ole Tobian

Career paths at WEINMANN are as diverse as the people on them. One such path is the one taken by Ole Tobian, who has been at WEINMANN since 2017. Today, as head of the Henstedt-Ulzburg production site, he is responsible for the entire production chain – starting with placing timely orders with suppliers, through the receipt of individual components, to the dispatch of finished devices.
A path marked by development and responsibility
Ole began his career at WEINMANN as a systems engineer. In this role, he not only gained in-depth technical experience, but also developed an early understanding of complex interrelationships and processes. For example, he was responsible for compiling all the necessary requirements that a WEINMANN device must meet. Analyzing errors when complaints were reported was also part of his job description.
Curiosity, initiative, and the desire to actively influence things shaped his future path. The next step followed in 2019: as a project manager in the R&D department, Ole took on responsibility for interdisciplinary projects. Looking beyond his own department, working at interfaces, and coordinating different requirements broadened his perspective and strengthened his leadership skills.
From 2022, Ole was Head of Quality Management -– Supply Chain, a department that plays a key role in the manufacture of life-saving WEINMANN devices. The focus here was not only on ensuring quality, but also on the continuous development of processes along the entire value chain.

The path from systems engineer to project management and QM-SC to head of the Henstedt-Ulzburg production site was full of exciting challenges. I look forward to continuing to be curious, taking on more responsibility, and shaping the future together as part of the team.

Organizing production at the Henstedt-Ulzburg site
Since January 2025, as plant manager, Ole has been responsible for the production site in Henstedt-Ulzburg. In this role, he brings together his experience in technology, project management, quality management, and supply chain. His aim is to further develop structures – particularly in organizational development, in plant processes, and in the strategic and sustainable positioning of the site. Creating sustainable solutions also plays an important role in Ole’s daily work. This includes planning future capital expenditure in energy-saving measures and conscious use of resources, for example by using used container facilities instead of new structures.
Ole Tobian exemplifies the idea that development at WEINMANN is possible if you seize opportunities, take responsibility, and remain open to new ideas. We look forward to continuing on this path together.
