2. Incorporation of External Content

In order to be able to provide visitors to our website with all the information about our products and services, we are sometimes obliged to incorporate content from other providers on our website. We shall provide an explanation of this in the following.

2.1. Plug-Ins

We use different plug-ins from other service providers on our website. A plug-in is a software component which enables us to show external content on our own website. We shall provide you with an explanation of this in the following.

2.1.1. Google Maps

On the About us page, you can see the entrance area of our headquarters in Hamburg, Germany, in a 360° tour. This visualization is enabled by a Google Maps plug-in on the legal basis of our legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6(1)(1)(f) GDPR.

Google Maps is used to show maps and to create directions which make it easier for you to visit us. Google Maps is operated by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. You are notified of use accordingly. When you access a website in which Google Maps is embedded, a connection is established to Google's servers and your IP and browser data transferred to Google. By using this service, you also agree to the processing of the data you enter in the course of this by Google. You can find the usage terms and conditions for Google Maps at https://www.google.cn/intl/en-GB_ALL/help/terms_maps/.

2.1.2. YouTube

In order to play videos on our website, we use a YouTube plug-in in accordance with Art. 6(1)(1)(f) GDPR. This is to be considered a legitimate interest. The operator is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. When you visit our website equipped with the YouTube plug-in, a connection is established to the YouTube servers. In the process, your IP address is transferred to the YouTube server along with which of our webpages you have visited. This happens irrespective of whether you have a YouTube user account or not. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you also allow YouTube to directly assign your browsing behavior to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account. You can find further information on how user data is handled in the YouTube Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en&gl=en.

2.2. Social Media Links

On our website, a distinction is to be made between our own content and the links to content made available by other providers. We do not have any influence over their content. The respective provider or operator is always responsible for the content of the linked website.

2.2.1. Facebook

Our website has links to the Facebook website. The operator of the website is Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. Instead of Facebook plug-ins, we decided to only link to Facebook so that when you visit our website your personal data is not automatically transferred to Facebook. This technical solution also prevents us automatically collecting your personal data in this regard. Through the links, Facebook will also only process your personal data when you actively click on the Facebook button and are also logged into your Facebook account at the same time. We do not have any influence on the type and scope of your personal data that Facebook processes. You can find further information on how your data is handled in Facebook's Data Policy at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy.

2.2.2. LinkedIn

Our website has links to the LinkedIn website. The operator of the website is LinkedIn Corporation, 2029 Stierlin Court, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Instead of using plug-ins, we only link to LinkedIn. This means that when you visit our website, your personal data will not be automatically transferred to LinkedIn. Through the links, LinkedIn will only process your personal data when you actively click on the LinkedIn button and are also logged into your LinkedIn account. We do not have any influence on the type and scope of your personal data that LinkedIn processes. You can find further information on how your data is handled in LinkedIn's Privacy Policy at https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy?_l=en_EN.

2.2.3. XING

Our website has links to the XING website. The operator of the website is XING AG, Dammtorstraße 29-32, 20354 Hamburg, Germany. We only link to XING's website, instead of using a plug-in. This means that when you visit our website, your personal data will not be automatically transferred to XING. Through just the links, XING will only process your personal data when you actively click on the XING button and are also logged into your XING account at the same time. We do not have any influence on the type and scope of your personal data that XING processes. You can find further information on how your data is handled in XING's Privacy Policy at https://privacy.xing.com/en.

2.2.4. YouTube

Our website has links to the YouTube website. The operator of the website is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA, a subsidiary of Google LLC. For reasons of data protection, we decided to only link to this website, rather than use a YouTube plug-in. We thereby do not process any of your personal data in this regard, and YouTube is also unable to automatically collect your personal data when you visit our website because of this, as long as you are logged out of your YouTube account when you visit our website. This technical solution enables you to decide whether and when you transfer personal data to YouTube. Only when you actively click on the YouTube button will your browser establish a connection to the YouTube servers and transfer your user data to YouTube. We do not have any influence on the type and scope of your data that YouTube processes. You can find further information on how user data is handled in the YouTube Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en&gl=en.

2.2.5. Instagram

Our website has links to the Instagram website. The operator of the website is Instagram Inc., 1601 Willow Road, Menlo Park, CA, 94025, USA. We only link to the Instagram website, instead of integrating an Instagram plug-in.

This means that when you visit our website, your personal data will not be automatically transferred to Instagram. Through the links, Instagram will only process your personal data when you actively click on the Instagram button and are also logged into your Instagram account at the same time. We do not have any influence on the type and scope of your personal data that Instagram processes. You can find further information on how your data is handled in Instagram's Data Policy at https://www.facebook.com/help/instagram/155833707900388.

3. Advertising

For the purpose of the appropriate presentation of our advertisements, in accordance with Art. 6(1)(1)(a) GDPR, we record the behavior of our website visitors on and outside of our website using pixels from third-party providers. We shall provide an explanation of this in the following.

3.1. Facebook Marketing Pixel

This website uses the Facebook marketing pixel from Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA, if you have agreed to the associated processing of your personal data in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR through the Cookie Declaration. The Facebook pixel is a JavaScript code snippet which enables us to analyze the activities of all website visitors. The analytics tool works by loading a small collection of functions which are triggered as soon as you execute an event. We use the Facebook pixel to measure the effectiveness of our adverts, to determine the user-defined target groups for targeting for advertisements, to launch dynamic, advertisement campaigns based on the target group, as well as to analyze the effectiveness of the conversions. With the Facebook pixel, this means that we can show you, the user of our website, advertisements ("Facebook ads") that are of interest to you when you visit the social network Facebook or other websites that also use the tool.

Using the Facebook pixel, we process information regarding the activities of website visitors outside of Facebook. This includes information about the device of the website visitor, the websites visited, purchases made, adverts that the website user has seen, as well as information on how the user uses our website. This happens irrespective of whether you have a Facebook account or are logged into Facebook.

If you have agreed to the processing of your personal data through the use of the Facebook marketing pixel, and you would like to withdraw your consent at a later point in time, you can do this by deactivating the Facebook Marketing function at https://www.facebook.com/settings/?tab=ads# when you are logged in as a Facebook user. You can find information on how you can generally deactivate interest-based online advertising from Facebook and other companies participating in the European Interactive Digital Advertising Alliance (if, for example, you do not have a Facebook account) at: https://www.youronlinechoices.com/.

You can find further information on data processing by Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/.

3.2. LinkedIn Insight Tag

If, when visiting our website, you have given us your consent in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR via the Cookie Declaration, this website will process personal data about you as a visitor to our website through the use of the LinkedIn Insight Tag from LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Place, Grand Canal Dock, Dublin 2, Ireland (called "LinkedIn" for short). The LinkedIn Insight Tag is a compact JavaScript code which supports the functions of LinkedIn Marketing Solutions, namely conversion tracking, retargeting of website visitors, and web analytics for LinkedIn advertising campaigns. This means that with the LinkedIn Insight Tag, data regarding your use of this website may be recorded, including URL, referrer URL, IP address, device and browser properties, time stamp, and webpage call-ups. The information about your use of this website created by the tag may possibly be transferred to LinkedIn servers outside of the EU and saved there. In the event of transfer of personal data from European data subjects for processing by LinkedIn in another legal sphere than the EU, the EEA, or states for which the EU Commission has made an adequacy decision, LinkedIn agrees to (a) ensure at least the same level of data protection for European personal data as is necessary in the context of the US-EU and the US-Switzerland Privacy Shield; or to (b) enter into standard contractual clauses in order to guarantee an appropriate level of data protection.

The data is encrypted, anonymized within seven days, and deleted within 90 days. LinkedIn does not forward this personal data to us, the operator of this website. LinkedIn only provides compiled reports about the website target group and the performance of the advertisements. LinkedIn also provides retargeting for website visitors so that our advertising can be shown to you on websites you visit.

If you have consented to the processing of your personal data through the use of the LinkedIn Insight Tag and you would like to withdraw your consent at a later point in time, you can do this by changing your browser settings. We explain how you can do this in our Cookie Declaration. LinkedIn members can alternatively also control the use of their personal data for advertising purposes using their account settings. Here, follow this link to the LinkedIn site: https://www.linkedin.com/start/join.

We take the following measures accordingly.

4.1. SSL Certificate

We have integrated a standard SSL certificate on our website. SSL stands for Secure Socket Layer and is the most widely used cryptographic protocol for encrypting personal data. In this way, we can ensure that your personal data is transferred via this secure SSL connection. You can recognize the SSL connection from the padlock symbol and the "s" attached to http (i.e. https) in the address bar of your browser.
